I bought the Banker lamp for my wife for Christmas as the "See, I was paying attention" gift of the season. She didn't request it, but did want to personalize her desk at work in a classy way, without drawing unwanted attention or appearing showy. The subtle, elegant design of the lamp made it the perfect addition to office space with a rather cold overall design. I suspect it makes the whole office section feel a little warmer on the cold winter evenings when she has to work late. My wife liked it so much, she gave the lamp a name, as she does with things that have sentimental meaning to her. Score one for the husband this year thanks to Hayneedle.

Love this product. Bought it for my desk and it illuminates the area perfectly and is easy on the eyes.

Overall a decent bankers lamp. Very solid construction, not flimsy like other similar bankers lamps.

The only recent the lamp did not receive five stars is because the photo on the advertisement shows a silver or nickel frame, and mine is brass colored. The packing slip had 'brass' written in tiny letters at the end of it, so I suppose buyer beware. The lamp still looks ok, and I'm keeping it.

The green shade has a few scuffs and chips on it, but they are minor. You have to get really close to see the chips, definitely not worth the hassle of a return.

If you are looking for a solid brass bankers lamp, this is a good buy.
